As an 8-year old I always watched Trans World Sports on a Sunday morning. Every now and then they would show these people swimming, biking and running in a place called Kona. I was too young to fully understand what really going on but I thought it was cool and it stuck with me.

Fast forward 20 years, having raced the odd local 10k and half marathon, picked swimming back up and having completed the Megavalanche MTB event in Alpe du Huez, I entered and completed my first Sprint Triathlon event. I was hooked. The following year I raced the Olympic distance at the same event and made a plan with my friend to do a half and then Ironman.

However Ironman Wales was coming up for its second year in Tenby. I thought “why wait, let’s go straight to the big one.” Visions of an 8-year old on Sunday Morning came back to me. I was going to be one of them in a different place. 9 months, 15 hours and 4 minutes later I had bragging rights for life and a love for the endurance race. I was an Ironman.

Since then, I have competed in races around the globe and raced Ironman Wales multiple times.

Along the way I have gained Levels 1, 2 & 3 British Triathlon qualifications, Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) Levels 1 & 2 Swim Teacher qualifications and the ASA Level 1 Swim Coach award. Currently I am working towards my PT qualification.

Regardless of ability my real passion is helping people realise their ambitions, dreams and potential.

You only fail when you stop getting back up.
