I started running later in life having no athletic background or experience. I quickly fell in love with it. I was soon racing 10ks, half marathons and then full marathons. I derived so much joy from running and I started to have big dreams. I decided to engage a Coach to help me achieve my dreams. I wanted a Coach prepared to take on a "non-athlete" and who would push me out of my comfort zone. Neil Scholes was recommended as a great endurance coach.

Through plans that were specific and targeted, we worked with all my strengths and we tackled my weaknesses head on.

Hard work... yes! But the sessions were always varied and interesting and always achievable. I felt fully supported, encouraged and pushed.

I am SO SO proud of my achievements. In the four years of being coached I achieved all three of my dream goals.

1. I completed a 24hr race where I clocked 80 miles.

2.  I ran the Polar Marathon on ice and in sub zero temperatures.

3. I achieved a Boston Qualifying time and was meant to run the 124th Boston Marathon 2020. Sadly, Covid19 stopped this from taking place. But a qualifying time and getting a place meant everything.

Along the journey I took part in many other events and races. I have met loads of lovely people and I have learned much about myself.

I would not hesitate to recommend Neil as a coach. I am no special athlete but with his specific plans, and my willingness to train consistently, we achieved great things!
